About Me

I was born and raised in Santa Cruz, California. Life was never easy, but my Mother did her best to provide us with a loving home.   My blood father left when I was 2 years old and my mother remarried when I was 11.  We grew up quickly and learned several of life’s lessons along the way.  Life is after all a series of lessons.  I believe the toughest lessons are often the ones that stay with us the longest and teach us the most.

Without getting in to all the details, our family consists of several entities… mine, yours, ours, and even an adopted… All in all there were 7 girls and 4 boys.  I am the 2nd to the eldest and our family still gets along quite well.  Our mother passed on in June of 2005.  There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t miss her.  She had a big heart and a great sense of humor.  Sometimes when I’m really quiet I can hear her singing and even giggling.  She loved to sing around the house while doing chores and was happy most of the time.

My Mother worked part time, and my Father was a Fireman. Growing up, we had our chores to do, as well as plenty of activities and time for fun.   We learned at a young age the importance of responsibilities and the value of a dollar.  It was important to our parents for us to learn how to do most tasks and they encouraged us to do things that other people might have considered to be gender specific.  My brothers can cook and my sisters and I can fix most anything.  I’ve even installed wiring in a house, done roofing, carpentry, I drove a tractor, also operated a forklift and more.  And yes… I can cook and do so quite often from scratch.

I could spend more time telling you about who and why I am, yet I won’t.  I am me.  I have my own view of who I am, as other people have their own opinions and/or views.  I can tell you that I am grateful to have come from such a large and loving family and glad for all of life’s bumps, twists and turns that made me who I am today.  And if you ask me my sign... I will have to respond with "under construction".  That about sums things up for now.

Thank you for taking the time to read about me.  This is my first post and first blog site.  I'll write more later in other posts.

Have a wonderful day/night.
